Redundancies for an online presence?

After I experienced this suspension thing with Github, which never really came to my mind while creating a profile many moons ago [yes, I edited the post to use this phrase :)], it got me thinking about having redundancies for an online presence, especially if one is a developer like me.

GitHub served as sort of the only major online visibility thing I had apart from LinkedIn (which too can get locked by the way; happened to me) and I was suddenly locked out of it without any quick means to recover it. Yep, I had been using it to store multiple repositories.

Interestingly, I had used the same GitHub profile to contribue a bit (like, very little, I think it was just a documentation change) to radicle.xyz and its entire purpose is to provide an alternative to Centralised code hosting platforms. But, given its usage and its nature, it ain’t really as famous of an option as GitHub. But, yeah, now I definitely get its use case.

I shall write another post explaining how radicle works. Could be a fun exploration and revision for me.
